    • Use with an Echo smartpen as a mouse to turn dot paper notebooks into an extension of your screen. Once connected to your computer via a micro-USB cable, Echo can be used to mark up slides, presentations, PDFs, documents, and spreadsheets quickly and easily.
    • Paper Tablet tracks your smartpen while it moves over and on Livescribe dot paper, allowing Echo to be used as your computer’s cursor. Enter left-click, right-click, and click-and-drag commands from your notebook.

Getting Started

  1. Purchase and install Paper Tablet application after reviewing and meeting requirements (below).
  2. Start Paper Tablet application on Echo smartpen.
    1. By creating a Launch Line (shortcut) on dot paper (I recommend doing this and then cutting out the shortcut and attaching it to your desktop/laptop or other convenient place. See page 4 of Paper Tablet User Guide.
    2. Using Nav Plus (go to Applications - Tablet). See page 4 of Paper Tablet User Guide.
  3. Choose the orientation for the page
    1. For portrait (the default) orientation - tap a page in a notebook or draw a short horizontal line.
    2. For landscape orientation - draw a short vertical line.

Requirements

  • Paper Tablet works only with the Echo smartpen and requires firmware release 2.5 or higher and Livescribe Desktop version 2.3 or higher.
  • Windows: XP with SP3, Vista (32 bit only), 7 (32 or 64 bit)
  • Mac: Intel based Mac with Mac OS 10.5.5 or higher

Tips

  1. Create a Launch Line (shortcut) on dot paper and then cut this out and attach it to your desktop/laptop or other convenient place. Then you'll be able to more easily launch Paper Tablet.
  2. Use a non-inking (black) stylus to save paper.
